Sarasota County proposal raises water, sewer and stormwater fees

Sarasota County proposed increases in rates for water, sewer and stormwater fees Monday.

The biggest jump is a $3.75 increase, or 17 percent, on the annual stormwater assessment on a typical home. The fee is assessed on homes and businesses countywide, except in Venice and North Port.

A proposed 2 percent increase in water and sewer would raise the bill of a typical home using 4,000 gallons a month to $43.29, an 86-cent increase.

Garbage collection fees would remain unchanged.
